The Manchester United and PSG pay a transfer fee of at least € 100 million (R)$ 556 million) if you want to win the race by hiring the Napoli, Victor Osimhen, during the summer transfer window, a source with knowledge of the player's assessment told ESPN.
24-year-old Osimhen has become one of Europe's most wanted attackers this season by leading the search for Napoli for the first Serie title A since 1990. The Nigerian scored 15 goals in 20 games in all competitions and, with 14 goals in the Italian, is two ahead of Atalanta's Ademola Lookman, in search of the Capocannoniere prize as Serie A's goalkeeper.
With Erling Haaland (Manchester City), Darwin Nunez (Liverpool) and Robert Lewandowski (Barcelona) moving to their current clubs last summer, Osimhen emerged as the main option for clubs seeking to strengthen their attack options for the next season.
Sources told ESPN last month that United was also considering hiring Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur, and Benjamin Sesko from FC Salzburg. Juventus' attacker, Dusan Vlahovic, may also become an option if the Italian club is forced to sell the Serbian, who was hired by € Fiorentina 70 million in January 2022, due to the financial impact of having 15 points removed by financial irregularities. But Osimhen's sequence by Napoli This season led United and PSG to place the attacker at the top of their priority target list.
A source told ESPN that the Napoli will not separate from Osimhen for less than € 100 million, however, and that the prospect of United and PSG make a serious effort to hire the player raised the possibility of an even higher rate. Osimhen has two more years of contract with the Napoli, having reached the club by € 70 million of Lille in 2020.
Sources told ESPN last month that United closed a six-month loan agreement for the Dutch striker Burnley, Wout Weghorst, in order to avoid the commitment of an 18-month contract for permanent hiring, thus allowing the club to be free to pursue a first-class player. Centralian coach Erik ten Hag identified it as a priority this summer.
