After the invitation to all member associations/national federations (MAs) to express interest in hosting the FIFA 2027TM Women's World Cup, FIFA received a total of four expressions (in alphabetical order by country):
• South African Football Association – South Africa
• Royal Belgian Football Association, Royal Dutch Football Association and German Football Association (joint demonstration of interest) – Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands
• The Brazilian Football Confederation – Brazil
• The United States Football Federation and the Mexico Football Association (joint demonstration of interest) – United States and Mexico
The demonstrations of interest represent four confederations (CAF, Concacaf, CONMEBOL and UEFA) and the remaining two (AFC and OFC) host this year's FIFATM Women's World Cup. This level of participation confirms the global appeal of competition.
FIFA will now send the Bid Term – a document necessary to ensure compliance with the fundamental principles of the bidding process – to the federations concerned, which will have until 19 May 2023 to return it and confirm its involvement.
"We are enthusiastic about the expressions of interest received, especially because they come from member associations with a strong football tradition that represent four confederations, thus confirming the consistent popularity of women's football around the world," FIFA Secretary-General Fatma Samoura said.
"All federations can count on the most robust and comprehensive bidding process in the history of the FIFA Women's World Cup. "
The nomination of the host/hosts shall be made by the FIFA Congress by public vote on 17 May 2024.
