Atlético's Hulk striker has been rewarded for every goal he makes for the club. Coach Eduardo Coudet revealed this unusual bet, in which he presents the player with a bottle of wine every time he swings the nets.
"With every goal he makes, he wins me a wine. So, surely tomorrow (Sunday) I will pay again," said Coudet in an interview last Saturday (29/4).
This statement from the coach came shortly after Atlético's 2–1 victory over Athletico-PR, in the Independence stadium, for the third round of the Brazilian Championship. Hulk scored the team's two goals.
With these two goals, Hulk scored 81 goals and 101 direct goals in the Alvinegra shirt.
The recognition of the coach
Hulk's presence in the game was uncertain due to a swelling of the right ankle. However, Coudet decided to climb it anyway, relying on the attacker's determination.
"Yesterday (sixth), I tried to leave him out of practice for him to rest, but he always wants to train, run, kick the ball. That's what keeps him at this level. He's very competitive. We'll take care of it, because we need it on Wednesday, because it's going to be a very important game," the coach completed.
Next challenge in Copa Libertadores
On Wednesday (3/5), Atlético will receive the Alianza LimaFrom Peru, again at the Independence Stadium. The match is scheduled for 9:30 and will be valid for the third round of Grupo G of Copa Libertadores.
The game against the Alianza Lima will be crucial to Atlético's ambitions in continental competition. With Hulk in good shape and motivated by the technical's special gifts, the team will seek another victory to secure a favorable position in the group.
Hulk, a protagonist in Athletic
With the expressive numbers reached by Hulk, it is undeniable the role of protagonist he plays in Atlético. His ability to score goals and contribute directly to the success of the team has been fundamental.
The attacker has been a key player in Coudet's tactical scheme, and his determination to overcome physical obstacles demonstrates his dedication to the team and the pursuit of victories.
