The goalkeeper Mycael, from Athletico, was summoned by coach Ramon Menezes to defend Brazil in the Pre-Olympic. The competition will be held between January and February in Venezuela. Still without debuting in the professional, Mycael is currently the third goalkeeper of Hurricane. The titular Bento and also the promising Léo Linck are ahead of the young archer, who has a contract with the club until March 2027.
Mycael continues to maintain the tradition between Athletic goalkeepers and Brazil at the Olympic Games: in the last two competitions, in Rio-2016 and Tokyo-2021, the holder of the selection was Hurricane's shirt 1. It was so with Weverton (today in Palm trees) and then with Santos (currently Flamengo), who defended Hurricane when they were called and played a decisive role in the conquest of gold in both editions.
