Palmeiras arrives at mata-mata with chance of undefeated title of Paulista for the third time

O Palm trees finished the group stage of the undefeated Paulista Championship, and now faces the Black Bridge for the quarter finals in search of one more decision. Current two consecutive champion, Verdam arrives at this stage with a chance of title without defeats for the third time in the last three years.

In 2022, Alviverde added 12 wins, three draws and only one setback. The negative result occurred in the departure of the final round before the Sao Paulo at Morumbi. However, Abel Ferreira's team reversed the 3–1 with a 4–0 at Allianz Park and took the title.

The following year, the club took a similar path, with 11 triumphs, 4 draws and again defeats only in the first game of the decision against the Holy Water, this time with a 2 to 1 against. On the way back to his stadium, another 4–0 win to secure the cup.

The last state champion without defeats overall was the Corinthians, 2009. At the time, the championship had a first round of runs between 20 teams, in which four advanced to semifinals. The Green was eliminated in the semifinal of this edition.
