The match marked the star of coach Arthur Jorge, who began his endeavor with the novelty of four attackers. The quartet formed by Jeffinho, Luiz Henrique, Tiquinho Soares and Junior Santos♪ couldn't shake ♪ and Santos complained of altitude as the main barrier for performance in Glorious.
During the press conference, Artur Jorge explained the functionality of the formation with four attackers. The Portuguese commander made it very clear that the idea of playing against the Ecuadorian team is a kind of pattern he intends to build on the team.
"What we're looking for after some working time, which wasn't much, was to bring a game idea that would bring a feature that we, as a technical committee, intend to implement in Botafogo. The new Lone Star coach is optimistic for advances and, although he highlighted flaws, saw the team very committed:
"Satisfied with what the players did, with delivery and commitment, with what they sought to perform as a mission, but what defines performance is the result, me and the players know that. We know we did some wrong things that are very punishing at this level, but we have to see what we did good to be able to enhance", concluded Artur Jorge.
