Augusto Melo, President of Corinthians, and Fabinho Soldier, football executive, followed closely the training at CT Joaquim Grava when they were surprised by the news: VaideBet terminated the sponsorship contract with the club. The decision of the VaideBet betting house came after charges of use of an "Orange" company during the negotiations of the sponsorship contract. The partnership, which was based on a contract by the end of 2026 on the value of R$ 370 million had already surrendered to Corinthians more than R$ 60 million.
According to a complaint from Juca Kfouri's blog, the intermediary company Social Media Design Ltda would have passed on part of the amount received as a commission to an orange company, Neoway Integrated Solutions in Services Ltda. VaideBet stated that, after internal investigations and formal notifications, it decided to terminate due to the lack of resolution of the suspicions raised.
The termination of the sponsorship contract is another episode in the political crisis faced by Augusto Melo ahead of the Corinthians. The contract with VaideBet was seen as an attempt to maintain the political strength of the president, amid the departures of directors and internal crises in the club.
