The defender Thiago Heleno renewed a contract with Athletico for another year, with ties until December 2025. New contract has already been published in the pre-BID CBF, in the early afternoon of Wednesday (10).
The quarterback was not 100% satisfied because Thiago Heleno's idea was to renew for 2 years with Athletico, but Hurricane refused the proposal. For the club, Thiago goes through a ‘transition’ of title to another player.

Thiago Heleno is now one of the most experienced players in the Athleticano cast and was present in all the last important titles. So he is considered idol by many fans of the red-black, and is known as General.
The debut took place on February 21, 2016, against Cascavel, by the State. From there, there are 354 games played, with 169 wins and 16 goals scored.
He is the second runner to play for the club, behind only another legendary captain: quarterback Alfredo Gottardi Junior, who played between 1966 and 1979, and added 426 matches.
The General is also one of the greatest winners since the founding of the Black Ruble. There are seven trophies won, two of them from CONMEBOL Sudamericana (2018 and 2021), one from the Brazilian Cup (2019) and four from the Paranaense Championship (2016, 2020, 2023 and 2024).
In 2024, at age 36, Thiago Heleno was in the field in 26 of the 39 games played by Athletico until now. It remains a technical reference and undisputed leadership, both inside and outside the field. And further expanding its victorious chapter in Hurricane history!
