Athletico seeks the title of the South American to try to save the centenary year, but at the same time, it needs to remove the risk of delegation in Brasileirão. Today, the club is the 13th place, with 30 points – only five points above the ZR.
The Magic Number for Staying in the Series A is 45 points. Hurricane therefore needs 15 points (equivalent to five wins) in 14 rounds.
The sequence, however, is complicated. In the next rounds, Hurricane will face a direct competitor (Crisis) and two G-4 teams (Flamengo and Botafogo).
In this scenario, the duel with the Crisis – at 6:30 on Sunday (22) – wins decision. The Tiger is the 15th placed, with 28 points.
A defeat at Heriberto Hülse could bring down the Athletico to the 16th position (with a combination of results) and leave it only two points from the lowering zone.
By the current design, Athletico is practically obligated to win four games: Victory, Atlético-GO, Fluminense And Bragantino, everyone at the Arena da Baixada.
A victory (or three draws) would be missing for the club to reach the magic number. Today, the risk of falls is 12.2%, according to the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG).
In addition to the last 12 rounds, Athletico will still play two late games, but still with an indefinite date – against Athletico-MG outside and against Flu at home.
