The fans of Flamengo were surprised on the morning of Monday (30/9), when the club confirmed that Tite is leaving the position of technician. The coach was on the team since October 2023 and commanded the team already fired on Sunday (29/9), against the Athletico-PR, in Maracanã.
The match ended with the Rio team getting the better of it, with a head start. According to information from columnist Diogo Dantas, the newspaper The Globo, the commander of the Rio club was already with the resignation confirmed during the fight.
After some important meetings, the board had decided to interrupt the contract last Friday (27/9), even before the match for the Brazilian Championship. On the other hand, they waited for the end of the clash to communicate Titus about this choice.
Backstage, the executives were finding it risky for the Flamengo keep the coach in the semifinal of the Copa do Brasil, which will begin next Wednesday (2/10). At this first moment, former player Filipe Luís, who is currently coach of the sub-20 team, will be as interim coach of the team until the next appointment.
