Botafogo conquers third Brazilian title and slopes on Rio's rivals

After 29 waiting, the Botafogo It's, again, Brazilian champion. Artur Jorge's team secured the third national title in the history of Glorious on Sunday (8), winning the Sao PauloFor the 38th round of the A Series at Nilton Santos Stadium. The conquest makes Alvinegro touch the number of titles of Rio's rivals.

Now, the Botafogo, with three titles, is in the "glue" of the cariocas Fluminense and Vasco, besides the miner Cruise, which have four Brazilian Championship titles throughout history.

Glorious seeks another cup in 2024

Champion of Brasileirão, Libertadores and ranked for the Intercontinental Cup, in Doha no Qatar, Artur Jorge's team will be able to raise three more glasses this season.

The Glorious will face Pachuca, from Mexico, in the quarterfinals of the Cup, on December 11. The winner of the match will receive the trophy of the Defa of the Americas.

Whoever makes it to the semifinals will have Al Ahly from Egypt in the semifinals. At this stage, whoever wins will take home the Challenger Cup cup.

In the decision, the Real Madrid, from Spain, awaits the opponent to compete for the title of the Intercontinental Cup.

More trophies in dispute in 2025

The titles of Libertadores and the Brazilian Championship will give the Botafogo the opportunity to compete two other titles unpublished in 2025. The Super Cup of Brazil and the South American Recopa.

Brazil's Super Cup will be against Flamengo, who won the Brazilian Cup. The classic carioca will take place on February 2, 2025, at the Mangueirão Stadium, in Belém, Pará.

In the South American Rewind, the opponent will be the RacingFrom Argentina, South American champion. The games will be held on 19 and 26 February in Avellaneda and Rio de Janeiro, respectively.
