O River PlateARG's following negotiations with Athletico to buy the left-hand Lucas Esquivel. Argentine club had first investee refused and signals new proposal, from US$4 million (R)$24M) for 80% of economic rights. Athletico wants to sell 100% and evaluates business.
The information was reported by the journalist Hernán Castillo. The "Millionaire", as River is known, offered US2.5M (R)$15M) for 50% of the rights in the last week and had invested refused. Esquivel is well rated by Marcelo Gallardo, a technician of the Argentine team, and would arrive in replacement at the departure of Enzo Dias, negotiated to the Sao Paulo.
Side-left has not yet entered the field by Hurricane in 2025 because of an ankle injury and wants to leave the club in this transfer window. Movement at River Plate is seen by player and staff as a positive and could bring him closer to the Argentina national team, for which he has already been summoned.
