The Court of Sports Justice of Paraná (TJD-PR) decided, on the night of Wednesday, to apply strict punishments to Coritiba and players involved in episodes of violence during the classic Atletiba, held on January 25.
Case of Racism and Punishment to Coritiba
The alviverde club was held responsible for a case of racial injury against the defender Léo Pelé, from Athletico, and, as a result, suffered the loss of three field orders, in addition to a fine of R$ Fifty thousand.
Gambler Suspensions Involved in Confusion
The athletes who participated in the fight within the field received the following penalties:
- Filipe Machado – Suspended for 10 matches
- Jamerson – Suspended for 10 matches
- Rodrigo Gelado – Suspended for 10 matches
- Joshua – Suspended for 10 matches
- Sebastian Gómez – Suspended for 10 matches
- Junior Brumado – Suspended for 8 matches
Fine for Object Throwing
In addition to previous sanctions, the Coritiba was penalized with a fine of R$ Ten grand due to throwing objects in the field during the match.
Next Steps of Coritiba
In view of the penalties applied, the board of Coritiba already signaled that it intends to appeal the decision in an attempt to reduce the punishments imposed by the TJD-PR.
The repercussion of the trial continues to move Paraná football, and the club seeks to reverse part of the sanctions in sports courts.
