The midfield Gustavo Gomes, Athletico Paranaense, was summoned on Monday (10) for the Brazilian national team Sub-17. It is the fifth call of the 17-year-old player for the base selections.
O coach Dudu Patetuci called 23 athletes for friendly preparatory for the South American category. The departures will be on February 24th and 27th, Ecuador, against the owners of the house.
The athletes summoned will perform on Thursday (20), at Granja Comary, in Teresópolis (RJ). The delegation will board early on the 21st for Guayaquil. The group will return to Brazil on the 28th.
Gustavo Gomes is 17 years old and is a native of Brasília (DF). He has been in Athletico since December 2018 and is currently part of the Sub-20 team.
South American Sub-17
The South American Sub-17 will be held in Colombia from March 27 to April 12. Brazil is in Group B of the competition, along with Ecuador, Venezuela, Uruguay and Bolivia.
The tournament guarantees seven spots in the Under-17 World Cup. From 2025, the competition will be organized annually and will count on 48 selections.
Brazil is the current champion and winner of South American Sub-17, with five achievements: 2005, 2007, 2011, 2015 and 2019.
