The confrontation was marked by three controversial biddings involving penalties in less than 30 minutes. In the first, the defender Serafini blocked a kick from João Cruz with his hand inside the area, but the referee did not mark the infraction. Then Felipinho was knocked down in the area, and the referee initially pointed to the penalty mark. However, assistant Evanderson Rodrigues Florentino cancelled the bid by impediment, generating dissatisfaction among fans of Athletico.

The third shot occurred when Isaac dribbled two defenders and was overthrown by Alex Paulino within the area. Alan Kardec assumed responsibility for charging, but hit the beam, losing the chance to open the scoreboard. Asked about arbitration decisions, Barbieri was emphatic:

"It is up to you (journalists) to analyze. Was it a penalty? Yeah. And it should have been a red card. These decisions directly impact the course of the game."

Lack of effectiveness concerns

Barbieri also highlighted the need for greater efficiency in completions. He stated that the team needs to convert the volume of opportunities into goals. "The main lesson is effectiveness. Nobody misses on purpose, but we need to be more assertive. In the first half, we had a chance to get ahead, but with the opponent closing the defense, we lost control of the game," he explained.
