The expectation about the list of convoked for the World Cup ends on Monday. Today, from 1 p.m., Coach Tite will make the official call of the 26 athletes chosen for the competition of the largest selection tournament on the planet, which will be played between November 20th and December 18th.
The announcement will be made directly from the auditorium of CBF, in the west of Rio de Janeiro. At first, Tite sent a list of 55 names to Fifa. Of these, only 26 will be part of the cast that goes after the hexa. After being summoned, the athletes leave for the official presentation on the 14th in Turin, Italy.
From the initial relationship, sent to Fifa on October 21, some names are seen with little chance of going to the World Cup. In this level of possibilities, the lateral-right Rodinei, do Flamengo, the attacker Luiz Henrique, ex-Fluminense and current Real Betis.
The convening system has a previous list so that the clubs can prepare and make the necessary adjustments to give the athletes to the selection. With the dates of the Cup at the end of the year, the athletes must be released from November 13th, to perform the following day. From Turin, the selection embarks for Doha on the 19th.
The premiere of the Brazilian national team will be on November 24, against Serbia, starting at 16:00 (Brasília). Brazil composes the G group of the competition, which also has the selections of Switzerland and Cameroon.
The announcement of the summoned and the coach's press conference will be shown by Globo group on all its platforms, on TV Globo, on SporTV and on ge, with live broadcast.
World Cup Regulation
Both provisional and definitive lists may have 23 to 26 names, giving the following information:
- full name and surname
- name on shirt
- place and date of birth
- passport number and expiration date
- name and country of club
- height, weight
- number of international calls and goals per selection
The 23 to 26 related players must leave the provisional list – the one with up to 55 names.
In case of injury
- According to the regulation, only the related player can be replaced in the final list in case of injury or case of serious illness 24 hours before the debut of each selection. That is, in the case of Brazil there may be substitution until November 23rd, eve of the premiere against Serbia.
- In this case, the replacement does not need to be listed in advance with 55 names. In other words, a player may be summoned outside the provisional list.
- For the replacement, the Fifa Medical Commission needs to receive a certificate to prove the serious injury or disease in the athlete.
- The replacement inherits the number of his predecessor's shirt.
