Athletico is punished with a total of R$ 42,000 fine and loss of field order

The TJD-PR imposes sanctions on Athletico after confusion in the classic against Coritiba, removing six field orders and increasing the penalties of players and club leaders involved.

The TJD-PR (Court of Sports Justice of Paraná) decided to withdraw six field orders from Athletico, in addition to increasing the penalties of players and leaders of both clubs, due to conflicts in the classic against the Coritiba. The decision was made due to the invasion of the field by fans and the aggression of goalkeeper Marcão, Coxa. Athletico was fined in R.$ Fifty thousand and had five field orders removed for these reasons, plus one more for disorder.

The trial took place in the Full TJD-PR and the punishment will only be valid for the Paranaense Championship of 2024. However, Athletico's lawyer, Paulo Golambiuk, requested that the sentence be suspended until the trial of the appeal in the case between Operário and Maringá, which was accepted.

Among Athletic players, Pedrinho, Pedro Henrique and Christian were punished with eight matches each. Thiago Heleno had his sentence increased to six games and David Terans to three. No Coritiba, Alef Manga received the same penalty for eight suspension games, while Fabrício Daniel remained with six punishment games.

The leaders of the two clubs, as well as Marcio Silva and Victor Luís, who were initially acquitted, were also punished. The legal department of Athletico has already announced that it will enter with request for suspensive effect in the Superior Court of Sports Justice (STJD) so that Thiago Heleno, Pedro Henrique, Pedrinho, Christian and David Terans can play against Maringá.

The feathers for the players of Coritiba and coach António Oliveira will only be valid for the Paranaense Championship of 2024. Coxa was eliminated in the state quarter finals this year for FC Cascavel. Both clubs and the Attorney General’s Office have the option to appeal all decisions in the STJD.
