O Sao Paulo announced on Wednesday (19), in its social networks, the departure of coach Rogério Ceni. The decision was taken on account of performance below expected for the 2023 season
In recent months, Tricolor has accumulated elimination for the Holy Water, in the quarterfinals of Paulistan, a tie against the Italian in the debut for the Copa do Brasil, in Morumbi, and a defeat by 2 to 1, in the premiere of Brasileirão, for the Botafogo.
Even with the victory before Puerto Cabello for South American, the club's board decided to leave the coach, who is the main idol of Sao Paulo As a player.
Besides Ceni, they leave the Sao Paulo technical assistants Charles Hembert, Leandro Macagnan and Nelson Simões, and trainer Danilo Augusto.
That was Ceni's second ticket as coach of Sao Paulo. Since October 2021 there have been 107 games, with 50 wins, 28 draws and 29 losses.

With Rogério leaving, the name Dorival Junior gains strength to take over the team. Coach already ran the Sao Paulo between 2017 and 2018. At the time, Dorival also replaced Ceni in command Tricolor. His last job was at the Flamengo in 2022, when he was champion of Libertadores and the Copa do Brasil.
