Former Athletico-PR coach Cuca hit the club president Mario Celso Petraglia. In a statement sent through the press office, the coach said he tried to protect the group from players.
"When we entered the post-game prayer wheel, with all desolate, it was not time to seek guilty. They tried! I felt obliged to take full responsibility and make my position available as a way of safeguarding the group," he said in a statement.
The note was released a few hours after Petraglia detonated Cuca. The president made harsh criticisms of the coach. Petraglia referred to a scolding that the coach gave in the cast after another draw suffered in additions.
Cuca claimed never to make public demands. Coach thanked me for the opportunity to lead the heart team.
The technician still expressed sadness for abandoning the project in progress. However, he pointed out to expect more options in the cast.
"I knew a unique structure but had a group construction with even more alternatives. I thank you once again for the opportunity to lead my heart team. I am very sad, but I could not have made any different decision at that moment," he pointed.

The coach said he would have a conversation with football director André Mazzucco about staying at the club.
"I've been trying to renew, but I can't. I said here, at first, we needed to strengthen. And I won't talk about defeats. There's a time when you won't pick it up and punch it with a knife.
